Talents are the core competitiveness of enterprises. In order to further reform and optimize the employment system and strengthen the middle and high-level cadre team, our company held an 8-hour executive briefing and mid-level cadre competition.
The meeting specially invited four experts, Liu Guanghong, a first-level researcher from the Taizhou Transportation Bureau, Wang Qiang, Deputy Minister and second-level researcher from the United Front Work Department of the Taizhou Municipal Party Committee, Huang Linhua, former Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department of the Taizhou Municipal Party Committee, and Feng Xinhua, a second-level inspector from the Taizhou Civil Affairs Bureau and Vice President of the Municipal Charity Federation. The meeting was chaired by Sun Chengli, Secretary of the Party Branch and General Manager, and attended by over 40 middle-level and above management cadres and employee representatives of the company.
What sets this event apart from previous years:
1. No limits and barriers: This competition breaks the inherent barriers of identity, age, and seniority, selecting outstanding talents with novel political ideology, outstanding abilities, and rigorous work style, and creating a pragmatic and responsible working atmosphere.
2. Due to the impact of the epidemic, local experts from relevant industries and fields were specially invited as the review panel for this event.
3. Due to the different features of executive reporting and middle-level competition, assessment mechanisms are customized separately.
4. Composition of review panel: In addition to external experts, company executives, and employee representatives, competition candidates are added.
Executive reporting
The competition was held in a timed manner, with each person reporting their work for no more than 8 minutes. The reporting will be conducted one by one in the order of Senior Business Manager, General Manager Assistant, Deputy General Manager, and General Manager. Eight executives mainly reported on their work in 2021, from achievements, team management, personal growth, existing shortcomings and reflections in 2021 to 2022 work plan goals and measures.
Middle level competitive recruitment
After preliminary preparation, screening, and review, 15 candidates participated in the mid-level cadre competition, and the order of appearance was determined by drawing lots. Everyone prepared attentively and elaborated on their understanding, work ideas, and measures for the proposed position. They gave a wonderful speech focusing on the theme of "serving the people, striving, and taking responsibility". Meanwhile, they also admitted personal problems and shortcomings. They shared achievements, exposed weaknesses, and proposed measures to accept everyone's review. The speeches were serious and orderly and fully demonstrated everyone's confidence.
The review panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation based on their strengths, weaknesses, and characteristics, and the evaluation was rigorous, meticulous, objective, and fair.
Voting
Based on the principles of openness, fairness, and impartiality, external experts, company executives, and employee representatives conducted an objective and fair evaluation of 15 candidates in terms of speech content, morality, ability, diligence, performance, and integrity, combined with their daily work performance. The scores were counted and publicly announced on-site.
