On January 7, the first lesson of the 2022 "Safety Production Seminar" of Jiangsu JOC Chemical Storage Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as JOCPCS) “Propylene Oxide Operation Risk Analysis” was officially started. Zhou Wenjun, a dispatcher of the Storage and Transportation Department, gave a lecture where more than 30 front-line employees participated.

Zhou gave an in-depth analysis of the safety risks of the whole process of propylene oxide ship unloading operations, explaining in detail the operation documents, epidemic prevention and control, ship unloading process, tank preparation, process requirements, depot preparation, quality and measuring requirements, operation in summer, cold cycle, ball-passing test, abnormal weather and conditions in conjunction with the actual operation on site.

Safety Director Sun Guangguan gave high recognition to Zhou's courseware. He requested to take risk analysis of propylene oxide operations as a topic for safety talks in January. Sun also added the front-line personnel of the Storage and Transportation Department, Technology Centre, as well as Safety and Environment Department, should take the initiative to sort out the safety risks through the terminal, storage area, departure platform, public works station, environmental protection, central control and fire emergency, check the implementation of safety measures, and formulate additional measures to address risk points by revising the safety operation procedures and emergency disposal plans for unloading propylene oxide from vessels. Sun also emphasized improving the lecture slides as teaching materials. After optimizing the in-tank refrigeration cycle system, each operator of the Storage and Transportation Department shall also go into the field and conduct retraining on the tank structure to effectively control the risks of propylene oxide operations.
